Leo Schlesinger is a leader with a 30-year international career spanning finance, banking, private equity, and higher education.
Leo is a leader with a multifaceted 30-year international career spanning finance, banking, private equity, and higher education across six countries and three continents. He holds a BA in Psychology and an MBA from London Business School. Additionally, he has completed programs at Yale, Harvard, and LBS.
As the CEO of Aliat Universidades, Leo has transformed the organisation by acquiring and restructuring 16 universities into a leading omnichannel and digital platform. Under his leadership, Aliat has become one of the largest private higher education institutions in Mexico, serving over 50,000 students and 260,000 alumni through 27 campuses, online programmes, and over 100 distance and access centres. His focus on providing quality education to marginalised communities has been a cornerstone of Aliat's mission.
Leo is an adviser to several international companies and a board member of various for-profit and non-profit organizations. Over his 14-year tenure with the Young Global Leaders community at the World Economic Forum, he served as Chair of the Global Agenda Council on Sustainable Business and Natural Capital in Davos and founded the WEF's Global Shapers community in Mexico. Additionally, he is the former chair of the Young Presidents Organization in Mexico City.
Leo holds the position of Vice Chair of the Board at the American School Foundation in Mexico City.
Leo was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2010 and awarded "International Sustainable CEO of the Year" by YPO in 2012. He is the author of "My Best Self" (Mi Mejor Yo), a personal development book published in 2018.
