Dr Linda Amrane-Cooper

As well as being a Director, senior leader, and expert in online and distance pedagogy and capacity building, Linda's academic and professional career has spanned Higher Education, teaching, and Museum Education.
Dr Linda Amrane-Cooper is Director of Academic Practice in Online and Distance Education at the 91app and is Director of the Centre for Online and Distance Education. Linda's academic and professional career has spanned Higher Education, teaching, and Museum Education. Linda is a member of the 91app Senior Management Group and she supports a wide range of activity, innovation, policy and practice linked to academic development for the University. Linda works across the University, with colleagues in the 91app Federation, across the UK and internationally, to support the development of high-quality, inclusive and accessible online, blended, digital and transnational education.
Linda has extensive experience of working in varied international contexts and has a passion for supporting learners and educators, driven by a mission to ensure higher education transforms lives. Previous roles have included two posts as Dean, International Lead, Head of Campus and Head of Initial Teacher Education. Linda co-designed and led the University's PG Certificate Learning and Teaching in Higher Education for seven years.
In the Centre for Online and Distance Education (CODE), Linda leads a thriving community of 44+ Fellows, who are thought and practice leaders in the field. With her leadership of CODE and her senior leadership role at the University, Linda makes sure that innovation, capacity building, and research are part of her everyday work and from this she draws great inspiration. Linda takes a lead on Artificial Intelligence and assessment policy and practice development for the University.
As an active researcher, Linda’s current research and publications focus on assessment practices in online contexts, AI and higher education, the professional development of educators, and approaches to inclusion in online and distance education. Linda has taught at all levels from early years through to doctoral candidates in subjects including teacher education, mathematics, physics, science. Linda is a reviewer for two academic journals.
